Aroma is the closest link to memory…

Essential Oils

Concentrated treasures of botanical constituents, essential oils have been used throughout history for their aromatherapeutic properties, healing capabilities, and much more. Portable, frequency enhancing and mood altering, they are unmatched in usefulness and applicability. Some are readily available and very familiar, while others are more rare and precious. All are volatile, meaning that their essence floats up, up, and away when exposed, so remember to keep those lids on tight! Essential oils are potent and versatile. You’ll be glad to have a variety at your disposal within your healing tool kit. Remember to be very careful to keep them out of reach of little ones, and away from pets, as they can be harmful if used improperly. Essential oils can be added to your unscented body products one drop at a time to personalize your self care rituals, added to a hot bath, or a linen spray. The applications are as varied as your imagination!

Aroma Essentials… Must haves for your healing toolkit

  • Lavender

Calming, wound healing and fresh, lavender is perhaps the most used essential oil used for bodycare and herbal first aid for a reason. Try a drop on your pillowcase at night and drift off into fragrant dreams.

  • Peppermint

Another staple, peppermint is refreshing, pain relieving and cooling. Try a drop on the sacrum to relieve cramps, or brush a drop onto the back of your neck to alleviate stiffness after a day at the computer.

  • Geranium

Stabilizing, balancing and sweet, geranium creates a subtle alluring mood that helps to regulate hormonal fluctuations. Try a drop added to your body oil or lotion in the morning for an uplifting change.

  • Lemon

Bright, cleansing and friendly, lemon is a sweet choice for adding a bit of sunshine to your day. Add a few drops to your bath salts for a clearing effect, or a drop to your shampoo or bath gel to bring a twist to your morning!

  • Frankincense

Sacred, space clearing and deeply healing, frankincense has magical properties to raise the frequency within the body and without. Used for centuries for ceremonial purposes and physical healing, it’s too special not to try…

  • Lemongrass

Exotic, fresh and verdent, lemongrass is reminiscent of forgein lands and sprite sweetness. Cleansing, flushing and uplifting, it can be used to repel insects! Try a drop or two on your laundry pile as you are adding it to the dryer for some aroma magic on laundry day!

  • Oregano

Antiseptic, antioxidant and antibacterial, this well loved culinary herb is powerful medicine as well! Always dilute this essential oil, as it is very spicy when used on the body. Rub a diluted drop on the chest when a cold is coming on, soak in a salt bath and go right to bed… you’ll show that cold who’s boss!

  • Grapefruit

Juicy, happy, and sweet, grapefruit is a wonderful citrusy choice for an uplifting treat. Studies show that wearing grapefruit somehow makes other people percieve you as younger! Try adding a few drops to a small misting bottle filled with distilled water, and carry this with you when travelling. It’ll keep you alert, refreshed, and youthful!

  • Ylang Ylang

Blasamic, romantic and warm, ylang ylang is a gorgeous round floral that is very comforting. Slightly sweet, but very mature too, it’s a beautiful addition to your natural perfume shelf.
